Editorial Policy
How we research, fact-check, and keep content accurate.
Sourcing
Every factual claim in a CobotFloor article — price, specification, tolerance, standard, regulation, failure rate — is traced to a named primary source before publication. Acceptable primary sources include:
- Manufacturer datasheets and technical documentation (linked, with access date)
- ISO, ANSI/RIA, EN standards (cited by standard number and edition)
- Peer-reviewed engineering publications
- Published financial results or regulatory filings
- Trade press reporting that itself cites primary sources
Forum threads (Practical Machinist, Reddit r/PLC, r/robotics, r/manufacturing) may be cited as practitioner opinion, clearly identified as such and paraphrased, not quoted at length.
Fact-checking
Before any article is published, a fact-check table is completed in the article's research brief: each factual claim, its source URL, and a verified/not-verified status. Any claim marked not-verified is removed from the article. The article is not published until the table is clear.
Prices and dated information
Prices, model lineups and regulatory requirements change. Every perishable fact is written in the form "as of [Month YYYY]" and linked to its source. Prices are reviewed quarterly; if the source has changed and the new figure cannot be verified, the price is removed rather than left stale.
Vendor neutrality
CobotFloor does not accept payment for favourable coverage. Product recommendations state the specific criteria used and name who each option is not for. When we have not physically tested a product, we say so ("based on manufacturer datasheets and published pricing as of [date]").
CobotFloor currently has no affiliate relationships. If this changes, an affiliate disclosure will appear at the top of any page containing affiliate links, and those links will carry rel="sponsored nofollow".
Use of AI in research and writing
CobotFloor uses AI-assisted tools (including large language models) as part of the research and drafting process. AI is used to: identify potential sources, structure outlines, draft prose from verified facts, and flag gaps. AI is not used to generate prices, specifications, statistics or quoted content — those come only from primary sources, verified by a human before publication.
All content is reviewed against the fact-check table before publication. The CobotFloor Editorial Team is responsible for accuracy; AI is a tool, not an author.
Corrections and updates
Errors are corrected promptly and logged on the corrections page. The "Last updated" date on an article changes only when its content materially changes — not for cosmetic edits. Structural corrections (wrong price, wrong specification) are noted in the article with the correction date.
Images and media
Images are original SVG diagrams, freely-licensed photos (Unsplash, Pexels, Wikimedia Commons with CC0/CC BY/CC BY-SA), or manufacturer press-kit images where terms explicitly allow editorial use. No images are copied from other websites or used without a verified licence. See Image Credits for the full log.
